Volunteers and Interns

VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers are the life-blood of the Los Angeles Film Festival. Being a volunteer is a fun way to get to know new people, see movies, and be an important part of bringing to life the city’s largest public film event.

Volunteer candidates must register on SHIFTBOARD, the Festival volunteer shift-management system. Follow the link above for registration instructions.

Shiftboard allows you to view your schedule online and sign up for shifts that best accommodate your availability during the Festival. Beginning May 1, we will be more than happy to help anyone that may need assistance navigating Shiftboard, though we recommend you view the tutorials in the “HELP” section before contacting us.

You must attend one MANDATORY Volunteer Orientation to qualify to volunteer for the festival. The orientation will cover all the details of what is expected of you, how the Festival runs and other information to get you fully prepared to volunteer. Orientations will be held on:

Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm

Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm

If you have questions about volunteering, please send inquiries to volunteers@filmindependent.org and a representative will contact you after May 1, 2012.

INTERNS

Interns are a vital component of the Festival. Interns learn the inner workings of what it takes to run a Festival, and gain valuable experience at the same time.

If you are interested in an unpaid internship position, please send an email with the subject line: “INTERN: (First Name) (Last Name)” to volunteers@filmindependent.org, along with an attachment of your resume in Word document format. A representative will contact you after May 1, 2012.
