As Hollywood and Silicon Valley collide, filmmakers have the desire, or expectation, to use digital platforms to expand their vision beyond the silver screen. Focusing on the production process, a diverse panel of writers, directors, visual effects artists, programmers and producers discuss the changing landscape of filmmaking: What happens when filmmakers work with programmers? How do we use digital to evolve how we tell a story? How do we design for immersion, interactivity and narrative expansion and what are the possibilities of what we can do?
Panelists include Ivan Askwith, Producer, Former Head of Digital, Lucasfilm, Florian Henckel Von Donnersmark (The Lives of Others, The Tourist); author Cornelia Funk; Geoffrey Long, Program Manager, Narrative Design at Microsoft; and Scott Snibbe, CEO, Snibbe Interactive.
Moderated by Andy Merkin, Head of Transmedia & Special Projects, Mirada Studios.
