A special pre-Festival screening of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, taking place June 12 at 7:30pm. In the film, a young boy learns he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

TICKETING INFORMATION:
This is a special pre-Festival screening and not included in Festival Passes or Packages. Tickets are $13.00.

Passholders and Packages will be able to purchase a ticket starting May 10.
Film Independent Members can purchase tickets starting May 16.
Tickets on sale to General Public starting May 21.

Monsters University

The sequel to the 2001 hit Monsters, Inc., the film recalls the college years of Mike and Sulley before they were Scarers. Mike Wazowski’s (voice of Billy Crystal) lifelong dreams of becoming a Scarer are derailed during his first semester at Monsters University when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman), and their out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. The film opens in U.S. theaters on June 21.

From his early beginnings in skateboard and music videos, to the seventh-and-a-half floor, John Malkovich’s mind, Charlie Kaufman’s writer’s block and the fantasy world of Maurice Sendak, Jonze has developed his own unique brand of irony, humor, playfulness and visual style.  Spike comes to the Festival to discuss the creative process and highlights of his career. He might even give us a sneak peek of his upcoming film Her.
